15K miles trans fluid change?

I just made an appt with a Toyota dealer to change the noisey belt on warranty.
The service advisor of course recommends the 15K service.
I have 18K miles and asked what involved.

I told him I change my own oil and filter and air filter.
He said fine but the trans fluid change, tire rotation(which I need),check and adjust this and that.
Without the oil change and air filter $179 with a free loaner vehicle.

My wife has the Corolla so I don't have the maintenance schedule.
Seems 15K miles is a little soon for a auto trans fluid change.
Is it?

Way too soon. I'd say at 60,000. That "check and adjust" is BS. Basically you'd be paying the $179 for rotating the tires. I get the trans serviced for $65 on my Corolla or Chev truck at an independent shop. That's the best bet- find a shop recommended by friends and stick with it as long as the work is good. You'll come out way ahead.

I figured as much and just wanted to be sure..
A dealer ripoff as usual.
I'll just let them change the belt without the loaner car.
Thanks,John.

I called and asked again what they do at 15K service.
The rep says he also changes the diff fluid.
What a ripoff and I told him so.
Looks like I'll have to go to another Toyota dealer for the belt fix.
