05 maintenance light staying on

hello my name is mike snow and i am new to this forum and recently bought an 05 corolla. i have searched and found the threads on the maintenance required light. and mine started flashing upon starting about a week ago. signifying the need for an oil change. i understand the reset procedure, and have not reset the light yet, and tonight upon starting the light just now stays on for the continuation of the trip. i checked all fluid levels, or at least readily visible ones, oil looks fine, coolant is fine, never checked atf, i think the power steering fluid was within range. should i be worrying or not driving the car? or should i just get an oil change and reset the light? thanks for your help in advance guys, i have found this forum extremely helpful so far, until i can get my hands on a manual.
thanks
mike

afterthought: i have the le model could this car be equipped with a low tire pressure sensor? thanks

As far as I know that light will pop on at 5k miles, regardless of your actual oil change schedule. I know mine starts with the flashes on startup 100 or 200 miles early then stays on at 5k miles. Just take care of the maintenance yourself (oil change, air filter check/change, etc) and reset the light.

I am pretty sure there is a DIY write-up for deactivating the light, but I wouldn't recommend that until the warranty is out.

edit -- it won't let me put in the site with the DIY.

^^right. When the light flashes it's the "warning" of upcoming service needed. When it stays on it mean you should do the service now (based on when toyota feels the service should be done. The deactivate the light

As previously stated no need to be worried it will stay on once you pass 5K, just change the oil and reset the light
