1996 Instrument Cluster Panel

I want to remove that clear-plastic cover so that I can clean out the dust settled down below the gauges--so far, I can only see two screws in the top. That loosens the plastic shroud that covers the instrument cluster, but the bottom seems to be screwed in--and I can't find the screws for it.

The plastic shroud also rattles/vibrates when driving and its rather annoying (the screws are tight, but it doesnt seem to hold the shroud tightly )

Also, anyone ever done any LED mods for the instrument cluster to change it's lighted colors/brightness?

Take those two top screws out. The bottom pries out at the corners. It's in there pretty tight but be patient. Then 4 screws holding the cluster in and 3 wires to unhook at the back of it.

The plastic shroud probably isn't what's vibrating (unless you've put your hand on it and it stopped. It could be a number of things, maybe it's the plastic cover around the steering wheel shaft (where the turn signal and wiper controllers come out of). That thing rattles a bit for me.

Sweet--thanks, that really helps a lot

Ukrainian102, where did you find an instrument cluster with the tachometer? I'm trying to find one myself--do you have to do any mods (electrical) or does it just fit right in? It's really stupid that they didnt include them originally, but instead included an entire gauge just for fuel . vbmenu_register("postmenu_1229282", true);

I found it at a junkyard near me. Go to car-part.com and find junkyards near you that have it. Call ahead and make sure what they have really has a tachometer before making the trip.

It plugs right in with the same three wires, no mods needed.
