Rear seat back won't lock

The passenger side seat back won't lock into the upright position. The release button is not binding. Is there anyway to adjust the lock without tearing the seat apart? (95 DX)

Had a sim prob in my mazda ...if in dout use force i just swan it back and forwfth till it bit ..works every time..hope this helps but sorry its prob not the answer your looking for!

I recently solved that problem in my 2001 CE.

1. Make sure that the latch is open.
2. Slam that seat back.
3. *Push the release cable* back into the lock position.

Somehow in my situation the cable doesn't sling back anymore.

But try this.
