91 Corolla help

I have a 91 Corolla and was thinking about getting a K&N Intake kit (http://shop.knfilters.com/KNShop/Pr...spx?pid=57-0115). What are your suggestions on it and will I have to worry about getting a water bypass valve so water doesn't leak in? I have a stock Corolla DX so I believe to engine is a 4afe.

My brake fluid is leaking. I found out where the fluid is leaking to and I was wondering if that was something I can fix myself or should I have a mechanic fix it. Also, is there any brake parts that should be replaced because of the leakage?

Grr, forgot. Also, on my drivers side door, the key lock is broken, so to get into my car, I have to open the lock from the passenger side. Does a local repair shop like Pepboys fix this? I have manual everything (locks, windows, mirrors, etc.) =/ Thanks.

Also, where do sway bars go? Under the car?

My advice is to postpone the customizing until the basic problems are taken care of.

Whether you can repair the brake fluid leak depends on where the leak is. You say know where the leak is. Other people know whether a leak at that place needs the attention of a mechanic and whether other brake parts are involved. It's good that all these things are known!

I don't know whether the Pep Boys can fix door locks, but most locksmiths can fix car door locks. In what sense is the lock broken? Is there a key broken off in it? Or you can put the key in it but it won't turn? Or it turns but doesn't unlock the door?

Where the sway bar goes - definitely under the car. Did your car have one that fell off? (If not, you shouldn't joke around that that. There are some very sensitive people on this forum. )

If you think you can do it yourself.. try it.. the worst that can happen is having to tow your car to a shop to get it done after realizing you couldn't do it yourself.

and yes.. sway bars go under the car.

Thanks for replying.

Yea, I'm definetely not customizing it until I have money to fix the problems first. =/

Um, the brake fluid is leaking from this tube that is by the front left wheel. Its like behind the front left wheel and near the center of the car (more towards left than right)

The key does fit into the lock, does turn, but doesn't unlock.

And sorry, the sway bar thing was just something on my mind. It didn't fall off the car. Although once I get things fixed up, I might get a new sway bar and it will be good to know where the thing is

If I were looking at this tube, would I be squatting down looking sideways into the "wheel well" or would I have to lie down and put my head under the car?
Let's suppose it is in the wheel well. I think the tube in the wheel well is two tubes. The brake lines are metal up to a certain point and then they connect to a black flexible plastic or rubber tube than can move a little as the steering wheel is turned. Is it leaking from the metal tube, the plastic tube or perhaps the connection between them?

Oh dang, I went to a mechanic the other day. He told me it would cost at least $500-600 for the brake line to fix. He said some crap like the brake line plastic housing is broken that keeps the moisture in in the front to the back and other stuff. This is just too much money for me to down. I think I might just sell it and get a better one. =/ It's probably too hard to fix it myself anyways.
