Idle Problems! Help Please!

Hi
I was wondering if anybody could solve my problem.....I have a 93 Corolla LE and whenever i turn on the airconditioning when the car is cold, the revs drop and the car almost stalls....but it doesn't. When the car is warm, it does not do this, it only does it when its cold (aka when i first start the car or something) I took it to a shop, but they weren't sure what was happening...I posted about this before, but nobody really responded. I don't want to take it to the dealer yet so i wanted to ask you guys... If anybody has any thoughts, please post.

Thanks

Hmm, on carb'd rollas, theres an idle compensator that lifts the revs when the compressor starts spinning, I would imagien the EFI having a similar deal, so might wanna check that out.

Hmm, nope that doesnt look like it, because on the carbie the compensator is right there with the carb, and connects to the throttle butterfly, I'll consult my manual and get back later today.

EDIT: btw, what are those two blue boxes on the left side?

Hmm, well accoding to my book, the aircondition control goes through the ECU and so then the AC idle up should be controlled via the ECU aswell. Hmm, one thing you could check is the VSV- or idle up valve on your intake manifold. the VSV connects to the vacuume tank and has an actuator on it, its possible (now I'm not sure if it controlls the idle of the AC) that the actuator diaphragm has gone bad and therefor it wont up the idle when the AC turns on. Another thing you chould check for is that your idlespeed is ok without timing advance, it should be 800rpm at 10btdc.
If you want, as a remedy for now you could either lift the idlespeed a little, like 100rpm or just wait for the car to get warm before using the AC... hope this is of any help.
