When to change timing belt

Hi,

I have a 2000 Corolla. Does anyone know when a timing belt should be inspected/replaced on a Corolla? I checked the maintenance manual and it only specifies the replacement interval for other Toyota models such as Camry. Thanks in advance.

The 1zz-fe in the 2000 Corollas from memory is a chain, and therefore doesnt need to be replaced...

I had a 2000 Corolla. It's got a chain. The tensioner will wear out, so best to check it at the normal timing belt change intervals, about every 60-90K miles. Replace the tensioner if necessary
