if you want to turbo your fwd 4age

well i know its always a common question "oh i want to turbo my ae92 how can i do that?" and all the regulars respond well lots of custom work youve got a either make or find a good header to do it. ect well ive solved some problems! i was watching the 8 sec ae86 on the paradise racing site and i was looking through their products and i found a fwd turbo header! for the 4age what a find. i know! but its for a steep price $550 but still high quality turbo header you cant beat it http://www.paradiseracing.com/headers.htm

Quote:
Available for all Toyota engines, your choice of top mount or lower mount turbo available in stock. External wastegate and location of turbo varies from car to car.

All headers include 1/8 thick runner mild steel , CNC ported engine exhaust flanges, CNC machined turbo flanges and heat treating, choice of To3 or To4 flange.

Heres a new angle for all the toy fans...
Get a cheap second hand super charger off a 4agze with the cooler and bolt it on..
The holes are ther for mounting it ..all the piping will fit with out to much hassel..
The boost is adjustable by eather changing the pully size or using a bleed valve....

Bolt up should be easy but here is what i see as a prob..
The ecu..may need one from a 4agze.. map sensor (replace)
Check fuel flow etc
botom line is this will be easyer than a turbo..run cooller..and any ecu probs will be the same as a turbo anyway..!
You dont need a new exhaust system.unless ya want to.
The charger will produce over 15 psi if gearded right...but that will kill a n/a motor
bout 4-6 psi will give huge power increase in a stock motor (stactic compression ratio must be taken into considaration with forced induction)
On a std 4agze if the drive pully on the charger is replaced with a pully from an australian ford falcon p/s pump pully(just about get them from 7 eleven here lol) it will put out 158 kw (approx) but the cold injetor must be wired as on under load!!

When doing any mod like this i would reconmend an aftermarket injection computer which controls the ignition aswell as this will promote a safe and reliable motor that runs with in its limitations..

hope this info is useful?

hmm..... i can tell you this..... my 87 mr2 has an ae101 s/c motor in it.... and it won't be s/c for long... AND i'm not using a turbo manifold.... (and there won't be a turbo in the trunk or where the exhaust muffler is supposed to be)....

i can't say anymore

well the hks one is made for the rwd 4ag setup which is probally different, has slightly more room and is probabaly angled differently so you need a fwd setup manifold
