AE86 motor swap 4age

I have a 86' AE86 and im going to swap out my 4ac motor for the 4age. i know that the older 4age 16 valve will swap fairly easy, but i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to swap the 20valve 4age engine in. Since it is for a front wheel drive the tranny cant be used in mine. will the older 4age tranny bolt up to the newer 20 valve? and what else would have to be swapped besides the wiring harness? i putting in custom guages so that doesnt matter. any help would be great.

I believe you have to get a T50 transmission from the GT-S AE86s, also you will have to use a combination of clutch and flywheels from the GT-S and the 20V.

Do a search on "AE86 20V swap" in the Corolla forum and see what comes up.. this swap has been done plenty of times and the topic has been beat up more times than Whitney Houston at a crackhouse.

just gotta figure out which clutch and which flywheel to use.. I think it goes GT-S AE86 clutch and either AE92 Flywheel or AE101 flywheel as I think the AE86 flywheel won't work or it does work but the motor doesn't perform at its fullest by using it.. something like that. I believe the AE92 and AE101 flywheel was a better choice due to being lighter and bigger.

20v was only made for fwd but can be made to work in rear drive no prob just short out the flyweel clucth combo....
The only big issue you might comeacross is the distrubutor as it sits at the rear of the motor
only in a 20v config..other 4age's had different loction ooptions..hence rwd
If you get an after market ecu you might be able to use a crank angel sensor for the ignition system taking away this problem

Or you can bang in your firewall to make the room OR you can cut it.. I've seen both done.
