Yah, it's an AE92. But you knew that already by the title...
Both my back floors are lakes. A solid 1" of water, though more on the passenger side. I would think it was the sunroof (aftermarket)... except NONE of the seats are wet!! And the front floor is only a little wet... so I don't think it all came from the leaky windshield (I know that leaks because I get condensation on the bottom on both sides).
It would be interesting to know if water can run down the headliner and through the side molding somewhere and get to the floor without dripping on the seat. Is your trunk dry?
I've had several new windhields put in AE92's. If they leaked, when I took them back to the glass place, they merely put some sealant from a tube under the rubber molding around the windshield. This worked, but my experience is in New Mexico. Does anyone know if this is the usual method of repair?
Hmm, I suppose it could be running down the headliner. Yes the trunk leaks... but I think it's coming up thru the rot in the 1/4's when I drive. I sealed the taillights already!
Have you had to change the brake lights recently? Many times with the AE92 when you have a leak like that its coming through the seals around the rear brake lights. Well from my experience anyway with two AE92s a little silicone and all was well. HOpefully that helps.
Check underneath the car in the places where your wet. If the floor's coroded underneath you may have small holes where water may be splashing in from below. My old BMW had holes of corroded floor in the back seat area and in the driver area. The floor was so corroded that i could stick my finger through one of the holes and push the carpet up. So everytime it rained it turned into a lake from splashing water.
But wouldn't the water leak back out? I didn't drive the car all weekend, and it's been raining since Monday (and isn't going to stop till next Monday!! 2 weeks of rain!) so the water pooled up there.
