yea I could get bigger on the rear if I had a spacer.
My rims have a 42 offset and the rears only rub where the rim protector sticks out on the tire. it rubbed on the front a couple times because the plastic panel on the inside has warped over the years but it stopped <shrugs> I have 205/45 r16's on my ae92 coupe so depending on your offset is depending if they will fit or not. But there isn't even enough room between the rear tire and suspension to get your finger in there...
read the back of the rim.. it should be stamped with things like "14x7jj" or "15x6.5jj" for size, offset might be stamped on the wheel as "ET 38", or just 38 or whatever the offset is, some wheels have the stamps on the front, some on the back, some on the inside, etc.
Just a note that spacers to mod the offset are illegal here..we'll only if ya get sprung!
As far as changing the bolt pattern goes the only safe way to do so is by redrilling the hub and personally i would only have it done as a last resort ! ALso if you have rear drums how'ya gunna cghange the stud pattend ther with out spending a fortune?
If the pcd is different this is'nt a big deal as most tire shops stock spacer rings that fit over the hub and fit snug into the rim bore.(this takes the cars weight of the studs so they dont crack and fall of with stress..if you dont have them the car willl still drive fine but over time they will eventuallly break!
As we have a 4*100 std pattern we have a huge choice of rim and tire combo's so why stuff around with dodgy mods when ya can just get the right wheel to start with....?
Nope not yet! hence why you can get a nice set of 15 inch steels and caps for jack of a new car that has had mags put onit...the std tires dont suit older rollas...to high profile..
