99 Corolla Could Use Some Help

Hey everyone. A few months ago I got my hands on a 99 Corolla VE. I'm pretty happy with the car and all it can do. I don't make alot of money so I do what I can. I took the hubcaps off sanded the inside rim down and sprayed it black. Then put some $40 chrome plated caps just for looks. I bought and installed a cool air intake and an Apex N1 muffler. I'm workin on denso iridium plugs and bosch wires for the engine. I'm not tryin to make a super car here but I'd like to have some fun with it. Only 53000 miles on it. So I'd like a few suggestions as to what I should do next with it. I'm not genious with engine work but my dad is a mechanic. So any suggestions would be great.

you could paint the inside dash panels, paint your vvti engine cover, colored engine wires, seat covers, new guages, new controls, aftermarket system, new speakers, you did the rest of the things I was thinking. What I suggested is cheap good stuff.

PS Ebay is good if your on a budget.

Wow! all those mods will net you a whooping 0.000 HP and a lot of laughs when going down the road.

Should've saved your $40 and start a wheel fund, save up for some 15s or 16s even if they're used, they be better than some rice covers. Why would you bother putting an aftermarket exhaust and then putting ricey wheel covers?

Come on TMan1281, half the stuff you suggested is rice, painting the dash panels? I agree with the system, and maybe painting the engine cover to something not bright looking though.. maybe black or gunmetal.

Plugs, NGK or Denso work best with japanese cars, as for wires.. stay away from Bosch, go with OEM Toyota stuff FTW!

Hey stop hating on painted interior panels haha.

Colored engine bay and shit like that is stupid though. You won't get too much power out of your car with a low budget, but you could at least save up for some wheels and lower profile tires (maybe even springs and struts) to improve handling which is something you'll definitely notice.

Go for a set of good headers and a new exhaust system!
