Dead Speedometer 94

My 94 speedometer died. I checked the vehicle speed sensor and changed the instrument cluster to no avail. Any clues?

did you pull out the speed sensor and check the nylon gears in the tranny, also if you pulled the sensor you could try spinning it with a cordless drill or something to see if it works.

BTW they ARE a electrical system and NOT cable driven

I will check the nylon gear in the transmission. The VSS was removed and was hooked up to a meter and we verified that it worked.
