corolla chassis

how much horsepower and torque could the corolla withstand before the chassis twists and break down? here's the list of questions

1. ae86, how many hp? how many torque?
2. ae92, how many hp? how many torque?
3. ae101/ae102, how many hp? how many torque?
4. zze110?, how many hp? how many torque?
5. zze122?, how many hp? how many torque?

you dont have list all 5 of them, if you only know about one, then post about it anyways!! post away!.......

an FWD chassis doesnt twist like an RWD chassis, because theres no torque acting directly as a twisting force on the chassis. I dont know what the limit is, but its really out there for FWD cars, I know a 4WD corolla with 300+hp dynoed from it from the ae92 chassis. No problemo.

As computers came into play in chassis design, the newest gen corollas as well as the E11 corollas are already quite stiff. Toyota in general is amongs the stiffest chassis builders in japan, honda being one of the flexiest.

I doubt you'd have much problem with an FWD platform on the chassis handling the power, its more on the what the drivetrain can handle and what you can put to the ground.
An age old AE86 with a worn out chassis and corrosion problems wont handle much until you see the chassis bend, but I'm sure it will handle most things under 500hp fairly well. Then again a 500hp AE86 would be insane and it would most likely be a drag only car with a roll cage to support the axial loads.

like I have said someone did build a 500 hp ae86 and it's seriously pointless. the car isn't heavy enough to ever use that power. He had the hatch open with a bunch of friends standing on it and it still tried to hop off the dyno.
yea fwd is a good question. there are some civics that have liuke 400 hp/
but stop and think... again just like the ae86 after a certain point the power is usless unless your doin drag

well a car hopping off a dyno isnt that strange, because you're pushing the car against a brake. Thats why when we dyno cars, we always tie them down with straps. Yeah on few occasions we've had guys standing on doorsills pushing the wheels onto the rollers, because metal rollers dont have that much friction to begin with, imagine rollers that have worn smooth.

if your concerned with chassis stiffness on a RWD then add frame connectors (goes between front and rear subframes) or a roll cage!
