fx16 shortshift?

i just got an fx16 in a trade and have researched it and havent found any shortshift kits sold for it. does anyone know of kits made for other corollas that will work for sure. another option i have is possibly modifying the current shifter. a friend of mine owns a machine shop and could machine something for me, but i have no idea what it is supposed to look like for it to work properly and effectively shorten my shift throws. any help with other cars that have the same shifter or schematics for what the short shifter should look like would be great. thanks
kelly

You could probably copy an AE92 kit, but performance wise I don't see that much of a difference being made, you're still going to have the same horsepower.

make a 3/4" spacer out of plastic to go under the pivot then cut the lower portion of the lever weld a 3/4" piece of rod into the space then cut about 1.5"-2.25" out of the top and weld it back together. you have a short shifter..

PS go to the scrap yard and get a second to play with!
