AE92 4afe and resetting/teaching

I read the sticky on the 4age resetting and teaching, and was wondering if that worked the same on the 4afe. I replaced the plugs about 1000k back, and was wondering if resetting and teaching the ECU on the 4afe would improve the performance of the vehicle?

Thank you in advance.

Chris

Nope. And sparkplugs dont increase performance, they just give out a spark.

Ahhhhhh, I see........anyone know what might improve performance or gas mileage? I'm getting about the same with new plugs as I did with the old worn plugs...the old plugs when I replaced them had twice the gap as specs said.

resetting your ECU won't improve performance but it might improve the gas mileage, give it a try. Also, you should change the cap and rotor and maybe the wires if they're still the original ones that came with the car, go with Toyota parts, don't buy the cheap autoparts store ones. Another thing that could be killing your mileage is the catalytic converter, specially if its old and plugged up.
