Sure there is, Gen 8 would be AE86/AE82 which are slightly different, as the other is FWD and the other RWD.

I've noticed that ever since club4AG opened their FWD area there is a LOT of AE82 guys on the board, more than the AE92 guys. I think I remember seing at least 5-6 people with FX16s on the board, maybe we should convert them to TN.

Just checking some Corolla history, I think this is what flashmn is referring to.

-KE1X
-KE/TE2X
-KE/TE3X
-KE/TE4X
-KE/TE5X
-KE/TE6X
-KE/TE/AE7X
-AE8X
-AE9X
-AE10X
-AE/ZZE11X
-ZZE12X
-ZZE13X

I think that's it, someone correct me on the ZZ series if I'm wrong as I'm not too familiar with them.

Well we dont talk about generations like that here in europe, when you say the number, its what chassis model it is. Like E1, E2, E2, etc... So... its a matter of expression.

I don't know what some people refer to as "generation" down here.. I see it the same way as you do, but I think some people down here think GEN 9 = ZZE110

I wasn't looking for anything specific but just noticed that there wasn't alot of talk refering to gen 8 (98-01) models. I had a T100 now my son has it, and you could find all kinds of info on every other truck Toyota ever made except that one. Not that I'm going to get rid of it for that but I find it odd that when I buy a car it has to be the odd ball.

the only known problem i've seen with the 01 was an oil pan gasket leak. all the other problems i had with mine were just bad luck. word to the wise: if you don't want anything to break, leave the car stock.

my car punished me for not living by this rule.

Ive got a gen8, and the most common problem i've heard is the starter going.

all the other problems i've had with this car is pretty much wear & tear.
other than that, its a pretty solid ride.
