Unhappy Fuel Pump Leaking Oil

My Toyota Corolla 1989 SR5 Fuel pump (mechancial) is leaking oil where the top halfs are pressed together. I bought the pump new at Pep Boys a few years ago for about $70.00. It is a Borg Warner. Many many , many years ago the fule pumps on our old chevy's and chryslers would do this, I thought this was a problems that had been fixed over the years, but I guess it still happens 40 years later....

It looks like the cheapest a new on costs is about $40.00. i find these fuel pumps to be no more reliable then they wer 40- years ago. and 3x more expensive..

Cool

Yeah, I just ordered a new pump. This pump I put on new when the car had about 200,000 miles. it now has abo0ut 305,000 milles. and the fuel pump is leaking oil where it is pressed together. it is a pepBoy Borg Warner Fuel Pump. I expected it to las tmuch much longer. Only reasonWhy I rpelaced the original was because it has a zillion miles on it. I am kinda pissed this did not last as long as I think it should have. Oh, well, could have been worse.

I ordered a new one from:

http://www.partsamerica.com/

They have a deal for free shipping if you order $50.00 or more.
so I ordered the fuel pump (Manual fuel pump) ( I purchased thje cheap one, because the last one I bought was $70.00 and it dod not last very long)

$32.39
==========

and decided to purchase:

Interdynamics HGT134ACS
R-134a Recharge & Measuring Kit: with High and Low Gauge
$22.99

========
so for about $60 shipped (total) I get a new fuel pump plus an A/C guage set with hoses for both high and low side.

-----------

==========
PepBoy (about $70.00)
---------
In the store: (Kragen Auto) they wanted $47.99 plus tax.
--------
Autozone, in the store is about 43.99 plus tax.

Napa Auto (napaonline.com ) about, I think it was about $80.00, but I could be off a bit.
-----------

Note: electrical fuel pump models the eletrical fuel pumps go from about $145 to about $180 . for those with electric fuel pumps, again, mine is mechanical.
