Canada Knocking From The Rear

i have a 99 corolla and recently ive been experiencing some knocking sounds coming from rear driver side everytime i release the break into a turn or just releasing it period.

if i come to a stop sign or red light where i have to make a complete stop everything is fine, but rolling stops or driving in a parking lot where you rarely make a complete stop the knocking noise starts happening. i can feel it all the way to the break pedal sometimes.

has anyone got any idea what the problem may be?

ive checked the suspension and its not that everything is tight. all i know is that it has something to do with the break. any help would be great

Sounds like brakes to me, get your rear brakes checked up.

For our 1995 it was the sway bar bushings.

But to be safe check that no beer bottles are rolling around under your seat.

i would say wheel bearing...... the brakes being on can make the wheel 'move' to a point and then when released the wheel can move freely again, causing a wheel bearing to make a knocking noise...

since your 99 has rear drum brakes....usually there wouldn't be a knocking noise from the brakes..... there's a crap load of springs & a hydraulic cylinder..... but i can't see that it would made a knocking sound audible enough to hear in the cab.....

could be a number of things really.

Rear suspension could also be doing it such as the struts
there are a number of rubber bushings in the rear that could have gone
