hi guys,, i just have a question for you all... i hope youll be able to help me out with some answers.... here it goes.... can a 4af gen 1 carburated engine be fitted with an EFI inatake coming from a 4afe gen2 engine??.. im currently planning to take my carbie off and swap it up with the EFI intake for better fuel milage... what are the possible problems and adjusments do i have to observe,,,, or maybe is just bolt on and rewire for the ecu thing with out a problem ay all?? thanks in advance for much needed advice guys.. god bless
Nope the 2nd gen 4A-FE intake manifold WONT fit.
1st gen 4A-FE manifold will, but where would you put the injectors. I had the injector ports welded onto the manifold and an additional set machined into the head itself.
Imho with the price you're gonna pay for the manifold/injectors/fuel tank/fuel pump/regulator/ecu/sensors/wiring/time spent with problems. You're gonna fuel up many times with the carb.

Absolutely!
I know some people that bought a motorcycle, insurance, equipment, etc. to save a few dollars at the gas pump. It'll probably take 20 years to break even.
nothing wrong with the 4af/4afe engines
I am a little curious to test out the 4afe though. See if I notice a huge difference or not.
but ren is right if your gonna do something like that the easiest way is to swap a 4afe and what is even easier is just get yourself a complete ae92 sr5 with a shit body that runs and use that as a donner. RUNS well is the key though lol. Or if you wanted to you could use that for all the stuff but the engine and tranny and buy another 4afe.
and how bad could your milage be? it's only a 40 liter tank and on 20 liters yesterday I did almost 300 km! and my carb isn't doin to well....
Settle boys..lol
now why not go for a 7afe?..it'll be cheaper than a 4age and the wireing is closer as the alts and starter are in the same spot etc...
or if tight for money just put a 4afe head on with all the bits.....and re ring the bottom end in the chassis..dont forget the bearings etc
