Fail! australia/tasmania/new zealand! all of it..
the cats are'nt really bad pussies lol
just get a hi flo cat......or if money is an issue gut it..
to gut it just remove your rear exhaust system after the cat and fill her up with leaded fuel and drive for a tank of gas! it'll turn the guts into charcoal and thell fall out..lol
wont pass a test but it'll keep most people of ya back as it looks like its ther
were prettie tight on noise from the exhaust here but a good system with a decent note will just pass !
once we get a PASS SWEET THEN OPEN HER UP AS THE COPS ARE SLACK JUST DONT FANG IT AT MIDNIGHT! lol

my rolla has 20v in her and a 2.5 inch system with h/f cat and one muffler out of a celica gt4...bout 95 mod..
it just passed as it was a drive by sound test...in third..lol it was'nt on the cams yet eg vct hadent come in...
if my gearing was different it would have woken up the dead as she goes sick after 5 g..

I keep hearing that hi-flow cats are just a gimmick and that all newer cats are already hi-flow as it is, not sure when or where I saw this, but I've seen it on a few threads just in the last few months.

The hitch in most modern exhaust systems is the muffler. Catalytic converters are suprisingly efficient. You probably wont notice a thing if you remove it, or even gut it. e.g. I would recommend again wasting your time.

Haha not true, here in NZ you don't need a cat. infact we don't even have emissions testing.

cats dont like fuel with lead in it..it runs hotter than unleaded and kills the guts of the cat...
dont think you can get leaded fuel anymore...we took it of the market a few years back!
go the high flow.............
i asume you are upgrading the pipe diamitor?
go for 2-2.25 inch on a stock motor.....

i'd go a 2inch from the factory headers..highflow cat of same diamitor and put on a decent muffler....a std turbo muffler if from a good brand name will flow just as good as a coffe tin muffler.....up to price and budget...the mufflre of the 100kw 4age can be had very cheap from the wreakers and will do well on your motor with good sound supression and flow
you should get away with out using any other parts but if its a bit load you can always ad a silencer later! but they do little
