car audio suggestions..

I am planning to install sound system (CD or MP3) in my 93 Corolla. Please suggest me a decent audio system available in the market along with compatable speakers for a reasonable price (~$100).. I am not looking for any fancy one.. My mechanic is going to charge me $20 to install it..

Please also mention the dimensions of the speakers so that I can buy them..

your suggestions appreciated..

thx

You are looking for 4 speakers and a HU for $100 ????

I picked up the Alpine CDE-9846 It will run you about $149... Check out crutchfield...
I also got the wiring harnes.. Install took about 1/2 an hour... It was a breeze on the 02...

I have yet to do the speakers...

The HU sounds great, plays mp3s fits nicley...

I'd step up your range.. $200 sounds fairer as you can't find anything decent, specially speakers and HU for $100.

I went even higher.. Eclipse HU, cost me about $500 and I'm happy with it. That was just the HU though.. speakers I had from another car, JL Audio 4" up front and Power Acoustik 5.25 components at the back(without the tweets).

I bought a panasonic HU for a little over $200. rear speakers were about $200 I think (or like 269 or something) was the yellow pioneer ones. The fronts are 4" infinities almost 200 for the set. still need an amp, The HU only puts out 200 watts which is the full power of one of my rear speakers lol. Figure a small sub at some point.
USually with stereo equipment you get what you pay for.

My left side speakers both front (door) and rear are working but both the speakers on right side are not working .. mechanic said they are frozen...

now i planned to have them installed and get a decent head unit for a decent price..

Do i need to replace all speakers for a better sound quality? dont know what to do.. with my small budget..

Any donations are also welcomed.. ;-)

on a budget just get a brand name h.u and see how ya go as factory speakers pick up heaps with the wattage increase of a new h.u.....if ther std rolla speakers and are stuffed just grab a replacment speaker from a wreaking yard!take one with you and get them from the latest model that fits.
