How do bottle jacks come apart?

Anyone know of a web page that shows how a hydraulic bottle jack comes apart?
I have a couple of defective ones sitting in my garage. I'm not promising to fix them , but I would like to know how one would take them apart in order to do so. For example, does the cylinder unscrew from the metal base plate? There is one from a 3.5 Sears floor jack that won't stay up after you raise the load. There is another one from a shop press that won't go down quickly when the valve is opened.

This is a good link, which was given by someone on fedoraforum.org:

The exploded diagram of the Yasui jack shows the top of the cylinder unscrews. this may be what holds the cylinder to the base. The site also discusses how to refil a bottle jack and what to use for hydraulic fluid.

The cylinder screws into the base. This is what the large cast-in nut is for at the top of the cylinder. Turn the nut or base, but one end of the jack needs to be held firm as in a vise. Drain out all the oil first. They are easy to repair, most likely a bad seal. Test the jack on something before placing it in service to see if holds position over time.
