AE92: Amp wiring write-up

Hey guys, I've been meaning to get my amp going for a while. Finally today I've started by getting the wiring thru the firewall. First you have to find a hole in the firewall suitable to put the wires thru. Luckily there's one big enough where the AC lines go if you have AC, if you don't its just a black rubber cover. I have both AE92s with and without AC so it made it easy.

Here's the pics.

This is the hole in the firewall, right under the ignitor/wiper motor area, without AC lines going thru.

This is it WITH AC lines going thru, note that you will have to fool around with the wire a little more in order to get it around the AC lines and into the cabin.

Wire goes thru the firewall and under the dashboard by the passanger side footwell.

Took me about an hour of fooling around, mainly with the fuseblock and the battery.. next update, getting the wire to the trunk and finally hooking up the Nakamichi amp.

jeez, I wish I had AC =( < I have a 91 Toyota Corolla 4 dr sedan with a 4afe =( I had 4 gauge running thru dat hole and for me, the wire routing was hecks easy. If I were you, I would get your hands on some fish tape (which I did) and makes the job 5 bajillion times easier. In fact, taking the interior out is the most time consuming process once you get the fish tape. You can get it at your home depot < what I did, or what not.

it's a better idea to use a knife, cut an X in the middle of the grommet and run the wiring through the grommet..... makes sure that your feet stay dry

BTW, I finished running the wiring to the back already; I never posted any pics because the ones I took were too dark and I'll have to retake them.

The Nakamichi amp is currently pumping two 8s but I might go to a single 10" soon.
