Timing chain in '98

Did the Corolla get a timing chain (instead of a timing belt) in 1998? I came across that info.(I think it was on Toyota.com), but just wanted to make sure I had that right. Thanks for any info/comments.

Yes it does (chain). The timing chain tensioner leaks so check and make sure its not. On the back side of the head

Can you fix the leak with a new gasket or whatever and is it a PITA to fix it? Reason I'm asking is because I was thinking of buying a Corolla with a chain. Thanks again very much for any input.

It depends if you are mechanical incline

The o-ring shrunk on the timing chain tensioner, so the oil seeps passed it.
You can buy this part for about ~ $30 from Toyota.
