where's the best place to buy wheel bearings?

I have a 1986 Corolla GTS, and my rear wheel bearing is shot. Where is the best place to buy these bearings? I have bought bearings from Canadian Tire and they were close to 200 bucks! Any place that has them cheaper?

Thank you.

sorry dude, thats about how much they cost.

you gotta pay if you want to play.

IMO, i would never buy a part like a wheel bearing from crappy tire? why? whats the point? so you can save a few bucks? thats one of the most important parts on the car especially if you're gonna be thrashing it around. so compromise the reliabitlity and durability of the ride for at most a $50 difference?

i'd opt for OEM toyota.

whoa, lets not assume that im gonna "thrash it" shall we? I just need a new bearing and im poor as hell. im probably gonna put the car on blocks till i can provide "proper care". I agree that OEM is definitely better, as that is the part designed for the car. I just want to know the best spot to buy one.

their is only one bearing

Their is only one company in the world that makes the size and spec bearing for the ae86 GTS, the company that exclusively makes the bearing is called Koyo. It doesn't matter where you buy it, it is the same bearing as Toyota will sell you over the shelf.

So don't worry about where you buy it. It comes with a new retaining collar when you order it.

I can get them for around $80 each, but you have to order four of them and it can take 3 months for them to come in.

As a note, Crappy Tire stocks SKF bearings, which are used in industrial apps and are pretty reliable.
