Advice Wanted

I am looking to get a Corolla but am worried the 1.4 diesel won't be powerful enough. I don't really want to be getting a 2 litre. What is people's advice on the 1.4?

Thanks

I didn't even know the corolla came diesel... and a 1.4 diesel... Hope it's turbo'd. Even if it is it shouldn't be very powerful.
I had a 1990 vw turbo diesel jetta and it had a 1.6 liter turbo'd engine and it only had 63 hp... Now it had more torque than the gas engine which made if feel just a little better. it was powerful enough for normal driving and you could push it when you had to but just about anyone can outrun it if they floor it when you try to pass them

I know i'm a little late on this one, but one of my friends had an AE101 XE (1.3L Diesel). The car was very very economical, but incredibly gutless. Plenty of Tourqe as diesels always have, but it still feels slow.

The 2L would be better - but i'd steer clear of the 1.4...
