Question Which Timing Notch do I use on a my Red Top??

OK, went and installed a New Head gasket today and noticed two knock pin notches for each cam gear when re-assembling the motor. I also noticed for each cam gear there was one notch pointing towards the timing dot and another that was not. Which ones do I use so I can line this motor up and set it for timing?

Thanks

I found a drawing but can't seem to be able to attach it to this thread.

Looking head on at the cam pulleys, you will have a right and left pulley. The notch (mark) on each pully should align with the marks on the head. The notches will be at the top of the pulley.

The knock pin on the left pully should be up. The knock pin on the right pulley should be down.

Looking back at both pulleys. The two notches of one pulley should be aligned the same as the other pulley. The only differance is the location of the knock pins. Left up, right down.

Thank you so Much, I searched and searched all day and found only the timing alignment diagrams but no explanation of the Knock pins. I really appreciate the help.

THANK YOU AGAIN
