auto to manual swap 4AFE

i have an automatic ae92 and im sick of it. i want a manual tranny ASAP! i found one at a junkyard and it looks like its in top shape. i want to know all the parts and any tips on how to do a succesful automatic to manual transmission swap on a 4AFE that came on a 1992 corolla.

my 2 main questions are:
does the manual tranny bolt right on?
and would i need a new ECU?

what else would i need to do this? id appreciate all the help possible. thanks.

The manual Tranny does just bolt on (as such), and you wont need a new ECU for a 4A-FE. But you will need the GB, Manual Pedal assembly, shifter, all the cables to go with it and plenty of know-how.

You need to find a spot for all of the cables that go to where they are meant to go to..

clutch master cylinder should be added to the list as the autos don't have one. IMO its not worth it unless you have the parts and the time to do it.. you'd be better off selling your car and buying a manual.

the only reason i want to do it is because of how cheap i can get the transmission for ($50), and the fact that i hate driving an automatic car. the only fear i have is jeapordizing the reliability of my car. ur right i need the clutch master cylinder

REN, you'd have a better chance of starting your period than finding a manual ae92 where I live. Most ae92's in Florida are auto's.
