AE86 sr5 auto to manual

whether it was to the 5 speed for the 4ac or to the 4age wouldn't it just involve cutting a hole in the floor like with the old domestic cars or are there linkages?

Well...With RWD domestics, you'd only need to cut a hole for the clutch master cyl, beacuse the shifter connects directly to the transmission. Dunno how toyota has the shifter cable holes on their automatics.

I was just doing some reading and I came up with this

"The tailshaft or gear shifter housing on the '80-87 T-50 transmission is longer than the '70-79 models by about 6". The main reason for this change was to bring the shifter further into the passenger compartment"

so I would think that answers that. That would leave the pedal assembly, clutch master and slave and hose to connect them. Not such a big deal I guess.

Thats also if the t50 bolts up to the 4ac.

just wondering this because if I can get the money together I will be buying an auto sr5 lol

I just doubt the center consoles are the same meaning I would have to get ahold of a manual one

was kind of hoping someone who has done this would have told me if it's hard or not.

another thing I wonder is does it matter in the lenth of the lines to the clutch. Or can they be as long as I want ?
I just did some reading and I am going through in my head how to make lines for it.

also scrap my question about manual trannies since what I have read said both the sr5 and gts used t50's
