RDS question for Corolla CE

I have a 2006 Toyota CE, and it talks about RDS in the manual and has the text button on the radio, but it has never displayed anything. I know that the FM radio stations in my city have RDS feeds; I was just in a car that received them.

Can anyone give me suggestions on how it will work, or an answer as to why it won't work?

RDS sucks

My car '06 XRS also has RDS here in Tucson but it sucks. Whenever I visit a station with RDS, I have to press TEXT several times for it to display the full message. For example if I visit KIIM fm and they are playing lets say Rascal Flats, well... when I click text it will display the station call letters then revert back to the station frequency (99.5). I then have to click TEXT again to see the song title. If the title is long I will have to click TEXT several times since it automatically reverts back to the stations frequency.
