Immm pretty sure its broken... Sorry for the huge pictures, I resized them in photobucket but for some odd reason they still come out farily large... This is the mount that costs $88 through Napa... Im thinking about doing it myself... Anything I should know aside from having to support the engine/trans from the underside using a floor jack and a block of wood (to make it softer on the trannie pan. )
Thats how I did it.... tho I filled my mounts with Wurth PU-mass, made myself some stiff polyurethane mounts
I thought about that... but to me there really is no point in doing it for my application, its an automatic.... Plus I kind of like the way toyota made this engine feel so smooth while driving it, so a poly mount would probably be unconfertable for me. Should I have to worry about breaking any bolts or rust? After all its a 98... but the only reason I was kind of leaning away from doing it myself was because of a certain rust factor.
Ugh.
Stay away from Autozone.
There parts are junk....
If you can't/won't buy OEM, get NAPA parts.
NAPA parts are awesome... Aside from the fact that when I asked for the trans mount I need the guy replied with a nice little laugh "be a cold day in hell when you find one of those" They didnt have ONE trannie mount for a 98 4sp/Auto anywhere in the US, like, they couldnt even order it.
PU-mass = polyurethane mass, you apply it with a caulking gun from a tube, takes few days to dry up and then its stiff.
Does exactly the same thing as expensive PU-mounts do, but the tube cost me like 7 bucks and theres enough stuff in it to fill all the mounts.
A more expensive USA industrial solution: http://www.devcon.com/devconcatsolution.cfm?catid=14
Perhaps you could cast a new mount? It isn't clear to me how load bearing the Flexane products are, but at least they are designed for rollers and conveyor belts.
