TE72/3TC running rough - normal?

Hi. The story here, is, that I drive my dad's 1980 Corolla SR5, and it appears to be running rough as hell :P Are people actually able to rev this engine up past 4 without it feeling like it's going to shake the car to pieces? :| There could very well be something wrong with it..I pulled the plugs yesterday, and one of them had basically no gap What could cause only one plug to be like that?.. Do any of you other 3TC folks find it to be a "rough" running engine?

Actually the 3TC engine is quite a smooth running engine like any other engine if kept well tuned and maintained. The Red line on the 3TC is 6000 rpm.

One bad spark plug, will cause any 4 cylinder engine to run
rough. Not sure what would cause a plug with no gap except for
improper installed or it is the wrong plug (too long insulator) and hit the piston.

The first step is a tuneup, then go from there to solve your rough engine problem.
