I give you credit for admitting to that....but how could you neglect a newer car like that? Did your parents buy it for you?
Your new motor will cost a few grand dude.

Well if you are looking at another NEW 1ZZ, you're looking at close to 6,000!!!! You might be able to score a used one from junkyard or somewhere for a lot cheaper though.

it'll be just over $1000CDN for a '02ish 1ZZ-FE, with full lifetime warranty, trust me, i know seems like a great number of 7th gen celicas also burn prematurely, and are still covered by toyota warranty. look into that before doing any type of work on the car, you just never know if toyota has some goodwill policy on newer vehicles that are still under warranty.

Holy shit!!! what is this a 2JZGTE???? even a 3SGTE won't cost $6000
How do you blow up an engine by not paying attention? Is it like you ran out of oil? (should not happen) or you did not change the oil for a very long time? Still, should it really blow up the engine? Hmmm...

Well, you are better off with a new shortblock, but I saw somone grab a Corolla engine at the junk yard for less than $200. This was a bout 1 month ago.
