I got TRD springs for my XRS

I took out my Tien S-techs and installed TRD springs in my XRS. There is much less of a drop but the ride is much smoother and I have noticably more bump travel. The tiens made my car look and handle great, but going over train tracks or speedbumps would be really harsh on me and the car. I could feel the car run out of bump travel and nail my trimmed back bump stops hard. I miss the drop and the sharp handling but I really like the new springs.

The TRD springs are higher so I get more body roll on a sharp turn. I also have hideous wheel gap again. But I think that even though it feels sloppier in the handling department it actually is a bit better at taking a really sharp curve without understearing, because I no longer have issues with bottoming out. I dunno.

What I do know is that the TRD springs combined with my Koni Yellow adjustable shocks make for a great ride. Fun to drive, extremely comfortable, and better looking than stock.

Here is a pic before, with Tien springs:

Here is one after with TRD springs:

Looks good enough for me. BTW the TRD springs are made by Eibach, I believe they're cheaper thru Eibach too.

Yeah it was down to TRD or Eibach for me, I chose TRD because it gives a 1.25" drop while the ProKit gives 1.1". That and I'd rather have a TRD sticker on my dash instead of the Eibach one

oops I did not notice this before, yes the EIbach springs were $20 cheaper, but they are not the same. The TRD springs are made by Eibach, to Toyotas specs. They are different from any other Eibach spring though, the TRD have a bigger drop and a different spring rate. Like I said 1.25" vs 1.1" drop.

Are the TRD springs progressive rate?

Damn that's the first instance I've seen of TRD and Eibach springs being different.

Looks very nice. I like the TRD drop more since it enhances the proportions of the car. I would much rather have TRD than Tein if Tein completely eliminates body roll. It will require much wider and stickier rubber to make full use of the handling capabilities with zero body roll. Having almost a too-tight front end on a FWD causes the car to break tension once the side way momentum gets propagated to the wheels while it is accelerating.

I know that I really hurt your feelings the other day when I made fun of your $20K 20 year old beater car, but why won't you just let things go? If you don't have anything to contribute to a thread that has nothing to do with your car then stay out of it (perhaps I should take my own advice?). The mods I've done to my car have all been productive and are defensible to anyone with an open mind. You know nothing about newer corollas so stay out of threads that don't apply to you.

The point of this thread was to show the difference between Tien and TRD springs, not go calling someone a ricer for no apparent reason. My car is very clean thank you

Go drift into a storefront or something, like all of the other cool kids are doing nowadays with any RWD piece of shit they can get their hands on and sink money into.....

Right.... I just repair cars for a living... including few _newer_ corollas. You just seriously have an attitude problem, you didnt just hurt my feelings, you also basically blew off 90% of the corolla forum members, what about them, I'm also standing up to them. But have a good day.

Yeah sometimes people need to learn lessons, and who better to teach those lessons than assholes like you and I?

I know I blew off a lot of people, but that is no excuse to follow me into unrelated threads and bring up old shit. My post had logic to it, and that is what offended you so. Logic that you could not defeat with anythign but smiley face giving the finger replies. Generally when you don't have anything productive to say you are wrong dude. It was my opinion that cramming a nissan motor into a corolla was not worth the money and effort, is that really too much for you to handle? I can just imagine you crying and pitching little anger fits over some kid's post on an online forum that just offended you so much.

Stalking people on an online forum to harass them is lame and childish.

I understand being a dick to teach a lesson, I've done it many times myself. I've learned mine due to your dumb ass replies to an otherwise productive thread. Get over it dude it's over.....
