alright been looking for what stock toyota cars have been running the garret t20 turbo. trying to find a used one to build a custom turbo kit for my 4afe and trying to find what car had one of these to salvage from. thanks for your help
You might find one on a 3SGTE, not sure if they were a T20 or a t25. No A series had one if that is what your ater. Also the LandCruiser and Hilux (Tacoma) Turbo Diesels had a smaller Garrett on them...

If I do remember from my many hours of reading and browsing, I believe DSMs (Talon/Eclipse) come stock with T25's. Check your local wrecker, it's a little bigger, but I don't remember when that is a bad thing. You could also pick up the same turbo used off many of the Nissan boards from a SR20 redtop, or even a T28 off of a black top. I was also going this route, but with a GZE long block and ECU.
most 3sgte's run a ct26 which is ceramic, the wrc spec one runs a CT20B which is steel. The caldina (the lateset 3sgte) runs a CT15B, I don't know if this is ceramic or steel.
The CT20B is by far the best turbo and can push out 18psi+ on a 3sgte

Then a used/rebuilt t25 is the way to go. Easy to find and should run you no more than $150 USD. Just make sure there isn't any play in the shaft and that the turbine spins freely and you're good to go.
If he's only running 6psi, wouldn't it be a bit overkill? I'd worry about the 1.6 spooling up that large of a turbo. But I am open to correction on that.
its about the A/R actually. A T03 like mine which has a .48A/R on the turbine side will spool up quite quick. Having a turbo thats too small is worse than having one thats too big.
Got ya flash. Completely forgot about that factor. T25--> Eclipse/Talon turbo models (obviously) 95-98(or 99?). Dunno bout the T03 and too lazy to look it up right now, but I'm gonna take a stab and say late 80's early 90's 300ZX Turbo.
