Question Oil Capacity 2002 Corolla LE?

I just bought a used 2002 Corolla LE - no manual in the car. Can someone tell me the oil capacity (w/ and w/o filter)?

Thanks!
Mark

Excellent, just what I needed. I had taken it into Walmart and noticed that they just slapped 4 qts of oil in it and let it go at that. That wouldn't be much of an issue, except they are always in such a hurry there, that they don't give the cars much time to drain and thus when I showed up to claim the car and checked the stick, I noticed it was about .4 of a quart overfull. Don't know if that causes problems, but I made them drain it out.

Thanks!
Mark

Well, the problem is the way Toyota designed thier car engine oil pans.
The drain plug is on the side of the bottom, not exactly on the bottom.
My guess is they wanted to make sure it wasn't ripped off [the plug] if you drive over something.
Regarless, to completely drain it [and even then there is a bit left] it takes a good 15-20 min for it to stop dripping.
What I do on my Celica is instead of putting it on the lift, I jack it up in front as high as I can possibly get it, so it drains as much as possible.

But half a quart high won't hurt anything.
If you go too far, it will raise oil pressure, causing seals to leak [eventually].

yes it would be the same.. same motor. And please don't go to Walmart to get your oil changes.. I can see going there for tires, but for oil changes and service?
