Unhappy light shock in backing, what's wrong?

I bought 2002 corolla CE, occationally felt a light shock from car body when the car is slowly backing, never found other problem in driving. Anybody has idea of what could be wrong? could it be transmission?

Thanks

Maybe a buildup of static electricity on your body? enough times going in and ouut of the car can cause a buildup of static electricity on your body.

Every now and then I myself get a shock from my car's body.It is most likely a build up of static electricity that causes it. Youre more likely to have a static shock when your skin is dry also. However, if the shocking occurs frequently, it may be something else like the insulation on your plug wires breaking down, causing them to arc.Check to see if there are any black streaks on the inside of your car's bonnet. If there are, it could be that the plug wires are touching the bonnet when its closed and there you have the source of your shock. While youre at it check the distributor and the cap as well.

See which, if any, of your lights automatically turn on when you back up and check them for shorts. The static electricity theory could be correct if you do as most people should do when they back up, twist your body around and put your right arm over the passengers seat to check what's behind you.

Thank you guys.

But the shock was more mechanical, not electrical, just like something in the car tremble suddenly.

Sorry for confusing.

Do you mean that you felt the car "tremble" a little?? If thats the case maybe it was a misfire. Faulty plug wires can cause that as well as a faulty distributor. Now that I think about it, maybe even a fowling injector might also be the cause.
