rim offset & tire help.

i need help buying the right size rims. when it comes to wheel offset and tire size im dumb as a rock i have a 4door 92 corolla and i wanna buy 15x7 inch rims. the offset on the new rims are 40mm. i aslo wouldnt know which type of tire to get. what i dont want is my wheels to stick out past the fender as if i had spacers. i want them to look nice and fit right!
can sum1 plz help me out with this? thanks!

with my 16 x 7 rims I have a 42mm offset and I need a small spacer on the rear just because of that rim protector on the tire rubs the strurt
