Considering purchase of 06 Corolla... Have questions...

I am looking at 06 Corollas. Specifically a 2006 Toyota Corolla S Manual, with the Value Package. What I have noticied is a particular LACK of aftermarket accessories. Including cat-back exhausts, cold air intakes, etc and so on. Is there aftermarket support for these vehicles?

So is there only TRD parts and accessories? It just feels like aftermarket support for the Corolla is lacking. I could find no parts from anyone like Greddy, AEM had limited and only for the 03 XRS, DC Sports, Apex'i, etc.

There are plenty of exausts and intakes and short shifters, I'll recomend Magnaflow catback exaust, Injen CAI, and a TWM shifter. There are also great suspension mods for it.

Remember that the 1zz gains very little from aftermarket, if you are looking for more bang for your buck aftermarket response get an XRS......

Hmm... Ok well I'll take a look around, might just drop it with some wheels and a stereo. I come from the classic domestic side of things where there are huge catalogs of parts and so on. However I have the car bug with all my cars, I just can't leave them stock, at least not for that long. However with the gas prices heading the direction they are, my classics are getting grounded except for the weekend rides.

Don't get me wrong the Corolla S is kind of a fun car. The only one I've ever driven was an automatic and it was a dog, but they are kinda lively wiht a manual. They absolutely need a drop before anything else though. They feel like driving a station wagon with stock suspension.

As far as mild engine mods go, you won't see terrific HP gains, but it will respond much better and sound nice. There is a ton of aftermarket available for the Corolla S, much more than the XRS.

It won't be hard for you to spend a couple grand modding your Corolla with quality namebrand parts from many many aftermarket companies. The XRS has the worst aftermarket support ever and I have mine running the way I want it now, all that is left are wheels, a clutch, and a light flywheel....

Oh and since you are looking at a 9th gen corolla, I highly suggest you go to www. 9th gen corolla .com (without the spaces) it is the most active 9th gen site on the internet and you will find all the answers you need, and can check out what others are doing to their rides.

Here's my car with TRD springs over Koni shocks, and a tint, with the stock XRS wheels
