off your is a tube that connects to a rubber hose. Which then connecs to another pipe that connects to the carb air cleaner. I know some efi cars have it and was wondering if the 4afe and 4age ae92's also had that on their cats.

Not such a huge deal now since turns out all that was wrong with my cat when I looked at it this morning was one of the 4 welds on the head shield has broke. I thought that pipe had come off again, thought maybe it might be something worse so I was worried I might have to replace it.

There is a temp sensor that connects to the cat (will have 2 or 3 wires coming out), but nothing else (bar the exhaust pipe) defiantly nothing going to the intake.

ok, first off you don't have a temp sensor that is in or around your catalytic convertor..... if it's a 3 wire sensor then it's a self grounded (heated) o2 sensor..... 2 wires means it's not a self grounded (non heated) o2 sensor... 1 wire is a self grounded (non heated) o2 sensor... and 4 wires is not a self grounded (heated) o2 sensor... NOT a temp sensor....

secondly... i'm assuming the 4af (NOT 4afe) uses a preheater hose that comes off the cat upwards towards the carb...... 4afe's and 4age's do not have these.....

US 4afe's (not all) and US 4age's (all, stock), however, had EGR setups that have a tube coming off of the #4 cylinder to the EGR valve, back to the intake manifold.....
