Car is going in the shop thurs... Need to locate floorpan

Hey all, my AE86 is finally going into the shop to get her nasty hole in the floor welded shut...

however I was wondering if I should locate a floorpan to put into my ae86 or just used fresh metal (what gauge metal should i use). Are new floorpanel replacements available?

I've been wondering if Standard would cut out the floors of one of the ae86 chasis in the stripping field

any suggestions?

thx

ok, this might sound stupid to some, but why'd you go to a wreckers to cut OLD metal and weld it on as replacement.

for your chassis no less

Where are you going to get the welding work done? On DK Neil (?) was saying that to weld you need to get it done right so there's no pinholes that will eventually trap moisture and rust. A trusted body-guy who knows what he's doing is a must.

well the shop I am bringing it to is a family one, since most of the tuner shops that my team (Team Tenacious) is affiliated with specialize in mechanical/performance/cosmetic tuning not body repair

the shop has been in business for over 30 years and the guy has already done 1 ae86

I've seen his work and he does a good job

ya where's the shop? Ask them if they do lap-welds or butt-welds. Do they custom hammer new sheetmetal? My rocker panels are pretty rusty:

Here's some pics of it from last year .. it's gotten worse over the winter:

This side doesn't look too bad but it is.
