O2 Sensor replaced

The check engine light came on in my 1997 Toyota corolla. I took the car to Advance to get the codes read. The codes were P0136, Circuit malfunction (bank 1 Sensor 2). The salesperson said it was the front sensor (before converter). I bought it and replaced old one. Now the light is still on.

Will the light turn off on it's own?

Did he sell me the right sensor?

Do I need to disconnect the battery for 15 mins to reset computer?

i'm not exactly sure but sometimes they just need to swtich it off...i've heard that alot of hondas and toyotas have 'check engine' light problems meaning they stay on even if the car is fine.

you need to reset your computer, usually if you just disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for about 30 mins it will turn itself off.
