AFM->throttle body pipe=common break?

car is an '89 AE92, with 4a-ge.

Like the title says- anyone else had that pipe between the afm and t/b break in half at the accordian-like part??? It seems anyone I ask at the local wreckers doesn't have any, it's a common thing for it to break.

Also, local shops are a joke, who is the best (opinions okay) supplier for engine replacement/performance parts? for example, I'm looking to get some slightly bigger cams in this engine.

1. yes they seem to break a lot, if you can't find one at the wreckers you can always opt for this one from Cosmo Racing which is in Canada but ships to the US. (I'm probably getting a red one).

2. parts for the 4AGE motors are hard to find, they're not like Civic parts where 7-11 can get you an intake.

▲▲(at 3am) ...Um yes, I'd like a box of b16 parts with my slush; and in what aisle are the fart pipes?

I found this site for parts, I'll give them a try when the time comes.

$17 is a lot cheaper than I thought it would be from Toyota. I guess it pays to check out the dealer once in a while!

DCM.. you're in BC?? check out www.dorikaze.com most of the members there are from BC and Alberta, aside from a couple of us in Ontario. There's a lot of people in the BC area who can get parts and there's a couple of Shops in BC that frequent the board that might be able to get AE92 parts.

Hey REN, thanks for the help. I'm serious about building this car, as my neighbour and I have just finished building his car, a '73 Mini Cooper S with a 13:1 race engine in a street car. He will use it on the local slalom course, hence the reason for getting the racing license. The GTS will be my track / street car so we can both race.

I'll check out the dorikaze site, too.
