Blower Fan Noise

My brother's Corolla (a 2001 CE) is making a horendous noise when he turns on the heat/cool. It's obviously the fan - anyone had this happen before? Just looking for comments.

Todd

Once the vent fell onto the fan for the blower on my old mustang :-p Did something similar to that. Just pop it open and look around and the problem might be something simple like that.

a mouse

that noise and smell turned out to be a mouse in the blower not sure how a mouse got in there but it was in there. took about 5-10 mins to remove the 2 bolts and 3 screws that held the glovebox in place then the actual blower was held in place by 3 screws in the bottom easy but stiiiiiink
