wont start

hey, i recently traded a three speed toyota tercel for a 5 speed 1992 corolla and the corolla wont start, i put the gas pedal to the floor when trying to start it and i figured when i didnt smell gas i figured it was a bad fuel pump, but i changed that and it still isnt spittin gas, should i replace all the fuel lines or is there an easier way for me to find out?

depends on how well you know fuel injection....

usually you can hear the FP turn on...... if you still want to check, crack one of the fuel lines on the rail to see (after the key has been turned OFF) if pressure has built up. If it has, then i would assume there's a problem with the injectors, ecu, etc....

if you aren't getting spark either, then i would think either ecu or distributor..... the fuel injectors are also fired based off of the signals from the distributor (from the dizzy the ecu knows where the pistons are and when to fire the injectors)

the spark plugs are brand new i changed them myself before trying to start the car, i had ridden in it the week before and it was acting a little funny so thats what i did, i changed the oil, put a new battery in and checked all the fluids. i checked the connections on the sparks just to be sure, i checked on the distributer and the belts, it seems to be in working order. is it going to be easier for me to replace myself or have a shop do it? cause i know cars fairly well and can do the work on them but if it requires alot of disassembling like taking things off down to the head thats another thing, i havent picked up a chiltons manuel for the car yet, im picking that up on wednesday so what do you recommend? taking it to a shop or doing the work myself?
