Silicone Spray for Electronic Distributor ?
I wonder if silicone spray can be used to lubricate the internals of an electronic distributor, such as the centrifugal weights mechanism, rotor spindle as well as the breaker plate to help the vacuum advance shift it more smoothly ? I opened up the distributor's cap and took a peek inside. The internals looked quite dry and doesn't seem to have any grease or any other type of lubricant inside. I drive an old-timer KE70 with a stock 4K engine, and installed this electronic distributor purchased from a salvage yard recently. Thanks.
