xA as reliable as the Corolla

On an average how reliable is the Scion xA compared to the current Corolla. For example, would you have a hard time deciding whether to buy a xA or a Corolla. Or is it Corolla for life!!!

xA = Echo/Yaris platform. They're nice and reliable and I think they would basically be very close.

Your choice doesn't come down to reliability though, it's more of what YOU want, the xA is more of a gas miser than the Corollas and of course the xA has a 1.5L motor with about 105hp as opposed to a 1.8L 130hp motor on the Corolla yet the Corolla still manages to pull great fuel consumption numbers. Of course the styling on both is great, but I think the xA is a little nicer looking than the Corolla.

The xA is not available in Canada, so you would have to export it or buy it used from a dealer who has exported it from the US, Either way you end up with a Toyota though.

I heard that the Corolla has a reliable transmission, one that I can use to fight up-hill battles everyday.
So how reliable is the xA's transmission
