Question about A/C Filter.....

Hey guys!! I have a question.Okay, here goes...Ive a friend with a JDM Corolla wagon.A 1999 model with the 5AFE engine in it.The thing is he needs to replace the filter for the A/C and he cant find it here. Its the filter that goes under the dashboard.Im assuming it is a part that is universal to corollas of the AE 100 variety.Does anyone know where I can find such a thing online or otherwise??Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Dunno if this helps but in my Echo its right behind the glove compartment. That is you remove the glove box (just fold it down and unhook the plastic hinges by squeezing in) and the filter panel is right there ... it slides out easy as pie.

So sorry Spud.

Is there a part number still readable on the original?

Earliest model I can find is 2001 but I'm betting it is the same part.

a/c has a filter.... called a reciever drier, or in domestic cases an accumulator drier.

what your refering to is called a cabin air filter... which can affect a/c but not apart of the system itself

If its the same part, my local advanced auto has one in stock. They dont have a cabin air filter however they do have an A/C filter. It looks to be rectangular, and its about $15.00
Part # is A24722. Like I said, Im not sure if its the same.

Here in Australia the Corolla does not come with a filter when delivered new, nor do Toyota stock a filter which is strange since it is all set up to accept a filter. I obtain mine manufactured by Ryco from a motor factors.
