Can I replace out myself a headlight on a '05?

...or is that something that can be taken into the shop?

And will I get pulled over for a burned out headlight?

If I can do it, can someone direct me on how to do it or if there are any websites to do it step-by-step?

Thanks in advance.

Complete headlamp could be a pain. If its just a burned out bulb.

(1) Buy a new bulb (leave it in the package)
(2) go home pull the hood release
(3) go to the front of the car unlatch the hood, open it and prop it open
(4) think about what side is burned out .. go to that side and release the clip behind the headlamp that hold the bulb in place.
(6) remove the old bulb from the socket
(5) compare the old bulb to the new bulb in the package.
(6) if bulbs match go inside and wash your hands.
(7) hands clean and dry? Go inside and find an old - clean - sock
(8)open the package for the new bulb -DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS
(8) using the clean cloth / rag /sock insert the new bulb into the socket - do not touch ot let anything else but the clean cloth touch the glass
(9) carfully holding the socket slip the bulb back into the headlamp.
(10) secure the clip holding the bulb assembly
(11) pull out your dipstick ... use the rag to clean it - re-install dipstick - pull out dipstick - check oil level - reinstall dipstick.
(12) undo hood prop rod, hold hood about 4" above latch and drop.

You're done.

I had a fogged up headlight while under warranty and Toyota replaced it in their shop, they scratched the surrounding area getting it in bad and tried to touch up all the scratches with touch up paint(you can imaging how bad that looked) and didn't even tell me that they had scratched it ...Long story short I took it to a collision repair place and they repaired/repainted the whole fender/bumper at Toyota's expense $650 ..The guy at the repair shop said his guys could put a light in 1000 times without scratching anything but if you don't know how to do it (like Toyota) you will scratch the hell out of it....To replace the bulbs on my drivers side I found I had to loosen the battery up to get my (big) hands in there Anyone have this prob?

I had to take out the battery to change my burnt out bulb. That made it a major pain in the ass. It still takes less than 10 minutes to do so you're good to go.
